To be an animal welfare investigator, you need to be working within the Law so as to provide the best service to animals in need. The work can be distressing, frustrating and hazardous so you need to have underpinning knowledge and understanding of a number of areas. You should have an understanding of laws pertaining to animal welfare, animal behaviour and health and theoretical experience of recognising when welfare is compromised. You will have access to case studies to investigate the above areas, scholarly articles plus a unit that gives you the knowledge and understanding of animal first aid to help injured animals.
