Diploma in Saddle Fitting

This course aligns with Ofqual Level Descriptors for Level 4 and will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to fit saddles correctly and safely. It has been written and is taught by experienced and knowledgeable professionals working within the industry This course will enable the learner to confidently enter the industry as a professional in the field. When completed and passed, this diploma ensures, that not only can the learner fit saddles to horse and rider, but they are also eligible for saddle fitting insurance Progression; - upon gaining the certification, the learner may progress onto our Advanced Diploma in Saddle fitting (Level 5 Equivalent).# Subjects covered include: • The history of saddles and their use up to current day standards. • The manufacture and construction of saddles will be covered in depth, including what to look for as well as problems and faults etc. • Correct and incorrect fit • Horse anatomy relating to saddle fit • Assessment of the horse and rider relating to saddle fit and how the rider can influence the horse and saddle • How to take templates and keep records. • Dealing with customers/clients • Role of the saddle fitter in the equestrian industry • Safe practice and risk assessment • Health and safety
