Equestrian Centre Assistant

Throughout this course you will learn tasks that will be required of you to act as a volunteer yard assistant and gain knowledge and basic skills in assisting with riding activities, how to groom and lead a horse safely and assist a coach/instructor in a riding lesson. It introduces trainees to the hazards and risks involved with yard assistant duties and to comply with health and safety legislation. The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee/instructor and the ability and previous experience of the trainees. The delivery of training covers a mix of both theory and practical elements.
