Firearms Awareness

The handling and familiarisation with different types of firearm is an intrinsic element of the course, which culminates in the development of field safety protocols followed by live firing under professional instruction. All live firing will be conducted at Premier Wildlife Services with at least two PWS instructors in attendance at all times. The course will focus on the use of rim-fire rifles, and the smaller centre-fire rifles typically used for fox/vermin control or the smaller species of deer, but will equally cover larger calibre weapons. Delegates will be assessed on their overall understanding of the subjects covered by the course through a multi choice examination and through the PWS instructor’s observations during the live firing activity.
