This practical hands on course is based upon guidelines from the Institute for Outdoor Learning and is aimed at those working in an outdoor learning context such as ‘Outdoor activity instructors, teachers or leaders operating in locations with close access to further support e.g. activity instructor, sports coach, primary / secondary teacher, rural visit leader, etc. ‘ (www.outdoor-learning.org) The content of this course is matched with the IOL Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 2. It covers Primary and Secondary care adapted specifically to the outdoor context where emergency services are in close access, and can be added to (minimum content is not adjustable) in order to meet the needs of the provider and it’s learners.
