Vehicle Restraint Systems Inspection Awareness

This course is designed for individuals who are required to inspect vehicle restraint systems and associated components as part of their workplace responsibilities, including those working within highways, fencing, infrastructure, construction and related operational environments.

The course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to understand vehicle restraint systems, identify common defects, recognise associated hazards and carry out structured inspection activities in accordance with safe working practices.

Learners will develop competence in applying inspection procedures, recognising different types of vehicle restraint systems and components, evaluating defects and damage, recording inspection findings and reporting issues through appropriate workplace processes.

The course supports workplace activities where vehicle restraint systems are installed, maintained, inspected or repaired, ensuring learners understand the importance of accurate inspection, effective communication and compliance with operational requirements.

The course has been developed to support risk reduction within highway and transport environments by improving awareness of inspection requirements, defect recognition and the potential consequences of non-compliant installation, repair or maintenance activities.
