This course is designed for employees across a range of workplace environments who require a general understanding of workplace hazards, safety risks and their responsibilities for contributing to a safe and healthy working environment.
The course introduces common workplace hazards and considers how unsafe conditions and behaviours can result in accidents, injuries and ill health. Learners develop an understanding of the importance of remaining alert to hazards and taking appropriate action when safety concerns are identified.
Learners consider their individual responsibility for workplace safety, including following established safety procedures, applying appropriate control measures and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions through the appropriate workplace channels.
